How do I get a library card? |
| A. |
Come to the library with...
• A photo I.D. (You must be 16 years old or accompanied by a parent or guardian)
• Some kind of document with your current address on it, such as a piece of mail, checkbook, your I.D., or any official document that has your name and your address.
• The name and telephone number of someone who does not live with you but would know where you live. That is all we need to get you a library card! |

What can I do with library card? |

You can check out regular books, books on CD or cassette, movies on
DVD or VHS, music on CD, or magazines from any library in Baldwin County. |

How long can I keep items I check out? |
| A. |
Everything checks out for two weeks and you can renew everything for two more weeks at a time, unless someone else is waiting for it. |

No, you may live anywhere. |

If I check out items and fail to return them on time, will you fine me? |

Yes, we will fine you 10 cents each day a book is overdue and 50 cents each day a tape or CD is overdue. |

How many books can I check out at one time? |
| A. |
You may check out as many books as you wish. There is no limit on books. You may check out 5 each of any particular type of tape or CD. For example, you may check out 5 DVD's, 5 books on tape, 5 music CD's and so on. |

If I look for a book in the library and discover that you do not have it, can you get it for me? |
| A. |
Yes, we have two ways of doing that:
1. We will consider purchasing the book. Just tell a staff member at the front desk.
2. We will ask another library to send it to us for you. If the book is at another Baldwin County Library, there is no charge. If the book is requested from outside of Baldwin County, you will have to pay postage, about $3.00 or so. |

What else does the library offer besides books, CD’s, movies, cassette tapes and magazines? |

We have :
• Special programs featuring authors, speakers and fun events.
• Summer reading programs for children.
• One on One basic computer instruction.
• Public access computers with internet, word processing, genealogy and lots of software. Complete reference services to answer almost any questions or information needs you have. Online practice tests for a wide variety of tests, such as GED, ASVAAB, SAT, etc… Alabama History and Genealogy research
• Much, much more… |

When is the library open? |

9:00 AM until 8:00 PM on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
1:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday
9:00 AM until 5:00 PM on Friday and Saturday.
We are closed on Sunday. |
