Mayor John Koniar

I want to welcome you to the City of Foley’s web site!

Foley is located in South Baldwin County Alabama near the Alabama Gulf Coast. Our quality of life is second to none and attracts retirees and families to our “Forward City” from all over this great land.

We are blessed with many recreational opportunities, including the Gulf of Mexico, many bays and rivers, and numerous other outdoor recreation venues.

Some of our many attractions include an active Performing Arts Association located in the heart of downtown Foley. The Foley “O-gage” train exhibit, located adjacent to the Foley Museum in our downtown Heritage Park, features over 1200 feet of operating track along with hundreds of stock and animation pieces. We also have an antique rose trail featuring numerous antique roses and camellias.

During the spring, our Convention & Visitors Bureau offers a “music and a movie” event on Friday evenings. The community is invited to bring their lawn chairs and enjoy live music followed by a “family friendly” movie in our Heritage Park. We are also excited about our new Farmers Market that will kick off this year in the downtown park.

We are soon going to open a $5,000,000.00 sports complex for our youth. We are also working on a 484 acre site, the Graham Creek Preserve, which will be an eco-center featuring walking and biking trails, a canoe/kayak launch and numerous nature exhibits. A number of rare and endangered plants have been observed in the park and we hope to have the park added to the Alabama Birding Trail in the future.

Shopping and dining opportunities also abound in Foley. “Uptown” Foley offers a number of boutique shopping venues along with fun places to dine. Tanger Outlets offers some of the finest name brand stores to stretch your shopping dollar.

Foley is part of the Baldwin County School System. The County is currently wrapping up a $42,000,000.00 expansion and modernization of our facilities in Foley.

The South Baldwin Regional Medical Center, located in Foley, recently opened a new Heart and Vascular Center and is recognized nationally for its level of quality care. The 112 bed Acute Care Center provides approximately 200 physicians to serve our area. The level of commitment to Foley and the entire South Baldwin area has been demonstrated through the $30,000,000.00 capital investment, which was made to continually upgrade this facility.

The list goes on and on for our “Forward City”, but needless to say, Foley has something for the entire family.

I look forward to seeing you in Foley soon!
