Foley’s Sanitation Department provides the following services
to the community:

  • household garbage/yard debris pickup
  • curbside recycling
  • street sweeping
  • mosquito control

North of U.S. Highway 98: Monday and Thursday
South of U.S. Highway 98: Tuesday and Friday

Limb, Leaf, Yard Debris:
Depending on schedule. These should be placed beside your garbage can.

Trash Schedule:
call for pickup. Trash pickup includes appliances and old furniture. These items should not be placed with garbage, limb, leaf, and yard debris for pickup.

Q. If the wheels on my garbage cart are damaged or missing can I get a new garbage cart?
A. The Sanitation Department will repair the cart if the wheels are broken or missing. The Sanitation Department assigns a new garbage cart to new residents. If the cart is leaking or worn out the garbage cart is replaced with a different cart. It is always at the discretion of the superintendent.
   
Q. What items do I put out for recycling?
A. The only items accepted by the City of Foley Sanitation Department for recycling are newspapers, milk/coke jugs, aluminum cans, cardboard (2' X 2') - must be broken down, office paper, and bleach containers.
   
Q. Whom do I call to pick up dead animals within the city limits?
A. The Sanitation Department picks up dead animals within the City of Foley.
   
Q. What days are garbage picked up?
A. For residential customers located on the north side of U.S. Highway 98 garbage is normally picked up on Mondays and Thursdays. For residential customers located on the south side of U.S. Highway 98 garbage is normally picked up on Tuesdays and Fridays. The following subdivisions are picked up on Mondays and Thursdays for household garbage: The Plantations at Magnolia River, Elizabeth Place, Wynwood Subdivision and also Briarwood. If your garbage day falls on a holiday, notice of holiday services are published in the Onlooker and The Mobile Press Register.
