Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival Friday, Jun 13th, 2008 - Sunday, Jun 15th, 2008
Mark your calendar for the 4th Annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival that will be held Father’s Day Weekend, June 13 – 15, at the Foley Soccer Complex 1.5 miles west of Foley, AL.
Visitors will have the chance to get very close to the fifty brightly colored balloons that are the stars of this festival. The two best times each day to see balloons fly are around 6:00 a.m. in the morning, and around 7:00 p.m. in the evening. On both Friday and Saturday evenings, half of the balloons will fly, and the other half will give free tether rides, weather permitting.
The heart of the festival is the balloons, but there are plenty of other attractions to entertain festival goers throughout the weekend. In addition to arts and crafts, a farmers market, and a children’s village, live music will be playing. On Friday night Dr. Zarr’s Amazing Funk Monster Band will take the stage, and on Saturday night folks will dance under the stars to the music of the Tip Tops. A new addition this year is a fireworks show on Saturday night at 9:45 p.m. So mark your calendar for Father’s Day weekend, and check out the 4th Annual Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival in Foley, Alabama.
For a complete schedule for the Gulf Coast Hot Air Balloon Festival, and an opportunity to see the balloons that will be participating, visit gulfcoastballoonfestival.com.
